Fulham midfielder Simon Davies hopes new boss Mark Hughes can persuade Wales international Craig Bellamy to move to Craven Cottage before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.
Bellamy played under Hughes at both Wales and Manchester City and is believed to be surplus to requirements at Eastlands.
Speaking after the Cottagers suffered a 1-0 pre-season defeat against Championship side Portsmouth, Davies said:"Craig has been one of the best players in the Premier League for the last few years.
"If we could get him he would be a fantastic addition to the team.
"The manager will be trying as hard as he can to bring in players like that."
Fulham have enjoyed two excellent seasons under Roy Hodgson and Davies added:"Coming on the back of two of the most successful seasons the club has ever had will be a difficult job.
"But Mark is very ambitious and I'm sure he will be up for the challenge."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
