Defending Champions League winners Real Madrid are looking to launch a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane in January, according to Mundo Deportivo via The Sun.
What’s the word?
Real Madrid have been misfiring at the start of the new season, with the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo hitting the three-time consecutive Champions League winners hard – and they’re looking to rectify that issue in the January window.
Mundo Deportivo via The Sun states Los Blancos are eyeing a world-record move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane as they seek to rejuvenate their forward line with the addition of the World Cup Golden Boot winner.
Having lost Ronaldo and failing to land Neymar and Eden Hazard in recent windows, the report states Kane is considered a ‘must have’ by renowned Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and are willing to pay any price necessary to land their man.
Will Spurs sell?
Harry Kane moving to Real Madrid is not beyond the realms of possibility but it is unlikely to happen midway through the season, with any move surely taking place at the end of the season – and it could be influenced by a number of factors.

Firstly, Kane will be keen to continue playing Champions League football and Tottenham will, therefore, have to ensure that they retain a top-four spot again this season – otherwise, their beloved striker could seek a new opportunity.
Secondly, Kane’s future could be dependant on what happens to Mauricio Pochettino amidst continued interest from Manchester United. The Argentine boss is unlikely to move midway through the campaign but a move could materialise at the end of the season.
Should either of those scenarios happen, Tottenham will face a nervy time with Kane’s future but they would at least get a phenomenal fee for his services.
