As quoted by the club’s official website, James Milner has hailed Liverpool’s hard-fought victory against Watford on Saturday.
What did he say?
As their rivals around falter, Liverpool appear to be marching on towards the Premier League title. But for the majority of their first-half against the Hornets, the Reds looked well off the pace, taking just four shots in total. However, Mohamed Salah’s brace ensured the Merseyside club racked up yet another three points, and Milner was quick to hail his team for grinding out the result.

He said: “Sometimes you’ve just got to scrap it out, it can’t always be nice and pretty football. But that’s an important result today to get those three points in the way we did, battling it out. Then obviously with what’s coming up it was a big time to get the three points.
“Keep recovering, concentrate on the next game and prepare and go again. This team is so good at that, really good mentality. It’s not easy but that’s the price of being successful. We want to win every game and keep pushing. You can see the quality in the squad because changes are being made all the time and that’s what we need to do.”
Unstoppable
So the Liverpool machine continues to churn out win after win. Just days after travelling to take on RB Salzburg in a massive Champions League clash, the Reds may have been forgiven for dropping points on their Premier League return. But instead, after a difficult opening period, Jurgen Klopp’s side began to control the game a lot better, registering 70% of the possession over the course of the game.
Much harder than you’d think… Can you name Liverpool’s top scorers for each of these 25 seasons?
Titles are built on wins when you aren’t playing at your best. And with the fixtures coming thick and fast, the Reds’ ability to just eke out victories and claiming all three points when not firing on all cylinders may be the catalyst for their potential success this season.
Meanwhile, this Liverpool ace could pay the price if the club pull off a deal for Takumi Minamino.
