Lots of Liverpool fans have running the rule over their Carabao Cup defeat to Chelsea, and they’re quietly optimistic about the performance of Fabinho.
Liverpool fell to their first defeat of the season on Wednesday night, as goals from Emerson and Eden Hazard stunned Anfield to give Chelsea a 2-1 win.
Daniel Sturridge had given the hosts the lead with a wonderful strike, while Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri were the standout performers for the Reds.

The 6ft 2in tall Fabinho is the name on every fan’s lips though, as Jürgen Klopp surprised everyone by handing the big summer signing his full debut.
The Brazilian has been kept out of the firing line by Klopp as he gets used to the pace of English football, and it’s not hard to see why.
The 24-year-old did make four tackles in the defeat to Chelsea, but also committed three fouls and picked up a yellow card as he was slightly behind the pace on a couple of occasions.
Fans weren’t overly impressed by his first start, but they can certainly see his potential, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
