There’s been a huge focus on Leeds signing a striker to replace Eddie Nketiah this month.Indeed, there have been many reports about United chasing strikers, whether it’s Che Adams, Billy Sharp or Dwight Gayle, but those can now all be put to bed as Leeds have landed their man.Jean-Kevin Augustin will be the player to replace Nketiah after it was announced he was signed on loan until the end of the season.Fortunately, it seems as though Augustin will fare a little better than the Arsenal man after Phil Hay revealed Bielsa’s thoughts on his new loanee.

What’s been said then?
As you can imagine, there were some concerns when Augustin was announced that he would be handed limited opportunities in the same way the 20-year-old was during his time at Elland Road – such was one question from a Leeds supporter on social media.
Nketiah made just two league starts for Leeds during his half a season with the club, but it seems as though the RB Leipzig man will get more of a chance than the man he is replacing.
Time will tell
Bielsa may have liked Augustin for a long time, but is he really going to displace Patrick Bamford in the starting XI?
The former Middlesbrough striker has started all but two league games for Leeds this term, and we’ve previously seen that Bielsa’s system can lead to some players having a slow start.
Just look at the likes of Jack Harrison and Bamford himself. The winger contributed to just two goals in his first 17 appearances, while the striker scored just once before February in his first season.
There are only 18 league games to go, and if Augustin takes some time to settle in then it’ll be tough for the manager to justify starting him over Bamford, and he could find himself being used in a similar way to Nketiah.
In other news, Phil Hay has relayed whether or not Leeds will be active again this month.
