According to Xhaka’s potential move to Milan is falling apart. Despite the midfielder giving the green light, the club is stepping back due to concerns over his age, high wages, and a significant transfer fee from Bayer Leverkusen. Talks have slowed, and the Rossoneri are now focusing on younger midfielders instead.

Milan have traditionally built their squad around younger players with long-term potential and affordable wages. Xhaka, while experienced and reliable, doesn't fit this strategy. With Modric already expected to join after the Club World Cup, Milan are unlikely to bring in another veteran, especially one with a high cost.

The Rossoneri are reportedly considering making a new offer in the coming days.
