Boasting an eight-point advantage at the top of the Premier League after just 22 games, Chelsea look on-course to land the league title and they’ve been very impressive throughout.Led by the likes of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard in attack, Chelsea have been formidable going forward but they have been equally impressive in defence.Conceding just 15 goals during those 22 games, Antonio Conte’s defence has been largely impenetrable- especially when you realise that eight of those goals have been shipped in matches against Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
Compared to Europe’s finest, Chelsea have the fourth-most solid defence and only Bayern Munich, Villarreal and OGC Nice have conceded less goals. Remarkably, only one of those sides ahead of them, Bayern, is top of their division.
With upcoming matches against Liverpool and Arsenal, Chelsea’s strong defence will be put to the test thoroughly but the Blues will be confident of ensuring their pair of Premier League rivals do not find things easy in attack.
