Alan Hutton’s return from injury is imminent with the Aston Villa Twitter account posting an image of the full-back back in training. The Scot has been out since the back end of February but now looks set to make his comeback.
However, reacting to the news, many Aston Villa fans aren’t happy once again – having slated the defender last week when Dean Smith revealed he should be back before the end of the season. This is predominantly because since he’s been injured, the club hasn’t lost a single game, winning six matches on the bounce.
One supporter suggested he needed to stay away from the starting line-up because his quality wasn’t good enough, but other fans were less subtle.
Villa stand a real chance of making the play-offs this season but it appears one fan thinks that would be out of the question if he played, saying goodbye to the Premier League.
Another supporter said it was no coincidence the team’s form was better without him.
Since the Scot has been missing, Ahmed El Mohamady has been more than able deputy at right back, helping to keep three clean sheets in six matches.
Hutton had played in 32 Championship games this term prior to his injury.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
