According to reports on Turkish website Foto Mac, Leeds United striker Chris Wood is a summer transfer target for Besiktas, who believe the New Zealand international is available for €6m (approximately £5.4m).
The report says that the Turkish giants’ manager Senol Gunes has received positive feedback from the club’s scouts as he looks to sign a new centre-forward, but he may have to up his offer with the Daily Express claiming the Yorkshire outfit want £20m for their star man.
The 25-year-old established himself as one of the best strikers in the Championship last season after scoring 27 league goals as Leeds narrowly missed out on securing a play-off spot, and he netted 30 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions for the Whites.
Leeds supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and the majority were quick to laugh the story off because of the suggested valuation of Wood, and the fact that they would never sell a player to a Turkish team.
