Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho revealed on Friday that key centre-back Eric Bailly was still absent for the Red Devils.
Bailly has been a revelation for United since moving to Old Trafford from Spanish outfit Villarreal in the summer of 2016.
The Ivorian international had been in brilliant form in the early weeks of this season, but has not featured for the 20-time English champions since their 1-0 defeat at Chelsea towards the start of November.
Indeed, the centre-back, who is valued at £27m by transfermarkt.co.uk, picked up a contusion whilst representing the Ivory Coast last month.
It had been thought that Bailly would return for Sunday’s Manchester derby against Manchester City, but Mourinho revealed at his pre-match press conference that the 23-year-old was still unavailable for selection.
Man United’s official Twitter account posted the news shortly after Mourinho’s comments, and the club’s supporters were upset to find out that Bailly was still on the sidelines.
