Liverpool have already agreed a deal that will see Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita join them in the summer, but now Reds fans want them to sign his teammate Timo Werner too following an impressive performance in the 3-1 home win against Schalke on Saturday.
The Germany international came on as a substitute in the 63rd minute with his team drawing 1-1, but within eight minutes he had scored one and assisted another as the Bundesliga outfit eventually ran out comfortable winners.
Keita netted Leipzig’s opening goal in the victory, while Werner’s close-range finish was his 13th of the season in all competitions, and the 21-year-old has 34 in 56 appearances in total for the club.
Liverpool supporters were quick to have their say on the forward’s display via social media, and while one said “give RB another £60m and get Werner too”, another described his impact from the bench as “outrageous”.
